As citizens of Geneva, Switzerland, and the world, we ask the City and
State of Geneva to take the necessary measures to perpetuate the memory of
Jean-Jacques Rousseau in the house where he was born, on 40 GrandRue.
We support the Espace Rousseaus mission to keep the spirit of Rousseau alive,
and its dynamic and original approach to celebrating this political thinker and
founder of modernity.
Rousseau is intimately bound up with the historic and cultural heritage of the
City of Geneva and the humanist and internationalist spirit of Switzerland at
large. We think that this link deserves to be enhanced.
