Lire - the 2003 edition (September 24th-28th, 2003) : on the theme of desire,
Espace Rousseau published, in collaboration with Zo publishers, the Lettres
Sara, Jean-Jacques Rousseaus unsung love letters to an imaginary woman who
bears resemblance with his great love Sophie dHoudetot. Reading was by the
well-known newscaster Darius Rochebin, the conference was given by Professor
Alain Grosrichard and a text from The New Heloise was staged. The
Jean-Jacques Rousseau Comic Strip Competition: Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 18th
century Thinker and Spirit of Today (December 2003) : There are few people
whose lives were as epic as Jean-Jacques Rousseaus. At once a hero and an anti-hero,
and as relayed in the Confessions, Rousseau is easily cast as a character in a
comic strip. In conjunction with Genevas Comic Strip Prize, the Espace
Rousseau, emulating the former, launched its own international competition,
hoping to find a candidate capable of producing a future comic strip.
